STAR PREVIEW Liverpool v Chelsea

first_imgPROFIT/LOSS SINCE JAN 1 2017: PROFIT 83.29 points(not including Premier League ante-post) Liverpool couldn’t have had a better start to the season. 14 goals, seven wins, top spot in the league and with the scalp of PSG to boot, Jurgen Klopp’s men are motoring through the early part of the season and with home advantage at Anfield it’s no surprise that they’re just 6/5 to beat Chelsea in the blockbuster tie of the Carabao Cup’s first round. On all known form that’s a fair price but the Carabao Cup is very much a different ball game and there are a million different priorities for Liverpool. On the weekend they face Chelsea again, with the Blues only two points behind in the title race, and just three days later they travel to Napoli. A victory there would give them six points from two Champions League games with two home games still to come.Chelsea have different priorities as well, with the trip to Liverpool coming fast, although they have an easier task in the Europa League. We also know that they can put out a strong team in a non-Premier League environment, having played PAOK with a strong line-up.Davide Zappacosta, Antonio Rüdiger, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso, Jorginho, N’Golo, Kanté, Ross Barkley; Willian (C), Pedro and Alvaro Morata took to the field that day and a good number of them could be used again whilst Gary Cahill could make his first start of the season while teenagers Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ethan Ampadu.Jurgen Klopp has said he will not make “the maximum or the minimum of changes” but it would be no surprise if he did not rest his elite attacking players like he did for last years tie against Leicester when his starting XI included Ward, Gomez, Klavan, Robertson, Henderson, Windjalum, Coutinho, and Solanke. Both these two managers know only how to attack, and goals wouldn’t be a surprise for all that Chelsea have had two rather dry games. However, it was unbelievable that there weren’t more goals in either their 1-0 win at PAOK or their 0-0 draw against West Ham and it’s not hard to imagine plenty of goals here.Liverpool vs ChelseaCarabao Cup7:45pm, Sky Sports Main Event HDHEAD TO HEAD RECORD(Maximum 10 matches)MAY 2018 PREMIER LEAGUE Chelsea 1-0 LiverpoolNOV 2017 PREMIER LEAGUE Liverpool 1-1 ChelseaJAN 2017 PREMIER LEAGUE Liverpool 1-1 ChelseaSEP 2016 PREMIER LEAGUE Chelsea 1-2 LiverpoolMAY 2016 PREMIER LEAGUE Liverpool 1-1 ChelseaOCT 2015 PREMIER LEAGUE Chelsea 1-3 LiverpoolMAY 2015 PREMIER LEAGUE Chelsea 1-1 LiverpoolJAN 2015 CAPITAL ONE CUP Chelsea 1-0 LiverpoolJAN 2015 CAPITAL ONE CUP Liverpool 1-1 ChelseaNOV 2014 PREMIER LEAGUE Liverpool 1-2 ChelseaChelsea might come with the stronger side here but in any case, the gap between these two sides looks a bit big. 3/1 Chelsea is a big price but the 11/1 on 2/1 appeals as a value bet and the double chance also looks a small bit of value at evens.RECOMMENDED BETS (scale of 1-100 points)BACK LIVERPOOL 1-2 CHELSEA 1pt at 11.1 with starsports.betBACK CHELSEA +1 2pts at evens with starsports.betlast_img read more
