Liverpool girls golfers stay close with F-M again

Bailey Wallace led the Hornets with a 45, with Justine Burness shooting 47. Lucy Fowler and Kira Graves both finished at 49, just ahead of Ashley Carter (50) and Elly Hulslander (51).Three days earlier, the Warriors roared past Cicero-North Syracuse’s Green team 183-267 at Northern Pines. Mia Avotins shot a 37 and Natalya Avotins added a 41. Hanna Dombroski got a 52 and Lindsey Toper earned a 57 as Gabby Diorio led the Northstars with a 67.C-NS’s Blue team had its own battle with F-M last Monday at Green Lakes, unable to keep up with the Hornets in a 175-204 defeat. Amy Krohl had a 47, but that trailed F-M’s trio of Justin Burness (39), Bailey Wallace (42) and Elly Hulslander (46), while Abby Ainsworth had a 49. McKenzie LaLone had a 52, beating out Emma Piper (56) and Jessica Ricciardi (58).As that went on, Baldwinsville defeated West Genesee 219-227 at Westvale, improving to 5-3 on the season with scores of 49, 51, 58 and 61 overcoming the 44 from the Wildcats’ Mikaela Riley.When C-NS Blue met C-NS Green last Wednesday at Northern Pines, Blue won 175-258, Ainsworth posting a 38 to beat out Krohl (39) for individual honors as Piper and Makenzie Lalone both shot 49. Josie Gabriell led C-NS Green with a 63, ahead of Mackenie Wessels (64), Kayleigh Virginia (65) and Cali Heick (66).C-NS Green went on to a 220-262 defeat to West Genesee on Thursday afternoon.
